We can't stop disasters. But we can make sure We're ready for them.

IWARelief is committed to ease the suffering caused by a disaster. Our emergency assistance includes fixed/mobile feeding stations, shelter, cleaning supplies, comfort kits, first aid, food, clothing, emergency transportation, rent, home repairs, household items, and medical supplies. 

Additional assistance for long-term recovery may be provided when other relief assistance and/or personal resources are not adequate to meet disaster-caused needs. IWARelief works with Local governments and other agencies providing disaster assistance.

Training Volunteers and communities on how to respond in case of a disaster

  •  Preventing future emergencies or minimizing their effects such

i) Encouraging home owners to buy flood and fire insurance

ii) Mitigation activities take place before and after emergencies

  •  Preparing to handle an emergency

i) Plans or preparations made to save lives and to help response and rescue operations.

ii)Evacuation plans and stocking food and water are both examples of preparedness.

iii)Preparedness activities take place before an emergency occurs.

  •  Responding safely to an emergency

i)Save lives and prevent further property damage in an emergency situation. Response is putting your preparedness plans into action.

ii)Seeking shelter from governments or turning off gas valves in an earthquake are both response activities.

iii)Response activities take place during an emergency.

  •  Recovering from an emergency

i)Includes actions taken to return to a normal or an even safer situation following an emergency.

ii)Seeking financial assistance to help pay for the repairs.

iii)Recovery activities take place after an emergency.

Urban search and rescue

Urban search and rescue (US&R or USAR), also referred to as Heavy Urban Search and Rescue (HUSAR), is the location and rescue of persons from collapsed buildings or other urban and industrial entrapments. Due to the specialized nature of the work, most teams are multi-disciplinary and include personnel from police, fire and emergency medical services

Combat search and rescue

Combat search and rescue (CSAR) is search and rescue operations that are carried out during war that are within or near combat zones.

Maritime search and rescue

Maritime search and rescue is carried out at sea to save sailors and passengers in distress, or the survivors of downed aircraft. The type of agency which carries out maritime search and rescue varies by country.
